Sarah Palin Fine-tunes Her Polarized Appeal

According to a USA Today/Gallup poll this week, seven out of ten people said their opinion of Sarah Palin hadn’t changed since she announced her decision to resign last week. But at the same time, she seems to be even more polarizing than before: Two-thirds of Republicans want Palin to be “a major national political figure” in the future, three-fourths of Democrats hope she won’t be, and more than half of independents wish she would just go away. Still, 74 percent of Republicans are at least somewhat likely to vote for her for president in 2012. [Gallup, USAT]
