To the surprise of no one, the Second Avenue subway line which was first announced in 1929 now isn’t projected to open until July 2016, based on a yearlong review of the ongoing construction. Previously expected to be finished in 2012, and then 2015 (as the above MTA ad sheepishly boasts), the debut of the elusive subway line could be pushed back even further to July 2017 if there are more delays, which there will be.
