That Color-Coded Terrorism Warning Thing Apparently Still Exists

We thought Homeland Security’s terrorism warning system had been abandoned long ago after everyone realized it provided no discernible benefit to the public and could easily be manipulated for political purposes. But though it’s long been dormant, the system is still apparently in use, because Homeland Security is putting together a task force to consider making changes to it. Our two cents? They can make the system a lot more useful by replacing threat-level labels like “High” and “Severe” with actionable suggestions such as “Time to Hoard Canned Goods” and “Freak Out!” respectively.
