As expected, Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed by the Senate Judiciary Committee around noon today by a 13–6 vote. The vote was entirely along party lines except for a lone Republican, Lindsey Graham, who reasoned that Sotomayor wasn’t going to be any “worse” than David Souter, so what the hell. Sotomayor is expected to be confirmed by the full Senate next week. [AP via Google]
