Today’s Times had a picture of the cover of Madoff’s Other Secret: Love, Money, Bernie, and Me, former Hadassah CFO Sheryl Weinstein’s account of her longtime affair with stooped Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff. The cover revealed that the author is actually kind of hot, which is not surprising; as many commenters noted yesterday, a certain amount of power and wealth (or in Bernie’s case, perceived wealth) can supplant actual physical attraction as an aphrodisiac (see also Henry Kissinger, Harvey Weinstein, Larry King, etc.). But it did remind us that while the economy may be straightening out, the dating market in New York is still desperately in need of a correction. [NYT, Macmillan]
