What Does ‘All Wee-Weed Up’ Mean, President Obama?

President Obama has become so frustrated lately that he’s been forced to concoct his own nonsense words in order to accurately portray his emotions. Yesterday, at a friendly get-together with supporters of reform, Obama said, “There’s something about August going into September where everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up. I don’t know what it is. But that’s what happens.” It’s pretty clear what he means from the context of his remarks and from what’s been going on in August — overexcited, in a tizzy, etc. But this particular phrase just doesn’t exist. A Nexis search shows that “all wee-weed up,” or simply “wee-weed up,” has never been used before in any form of media, ever. The dictionary defines “wee wee” as “urine,” or, in the verb form, “to urinate.” Clearly that usage doesn’t apply here, but political commentators couldn’t resist tweeting and blogging their best pee jokes regardless. This, at least for a while, distracted them from their blanket coverage of Obama’s struggle to find a consensus on health-care reform, which clearly was his plan all along.
