Ernie Anastos Apologizes to Viewers

Even though basically everyone on the Internet (and we are the only people that matter) thought Fox 5 anchor Ernie Anastos’s “Keep Fucking Those Chickens” flub earlier this week was nothing but hilarious, Anastos apologized on-air last night. “I misspoke during last night’s broadcast,” he said just before a commercial break. “I apologize for my remarks to anyone who may have been offended.” Which makes sense, of course. In these situations, you have to say sorry. But also yesterday the station manager admonished him publicly. “We are disappointed with Ernie’s comment on the air last night,” scolded Lew Leone, during the afternoon.

Okay, now. Obviously he said it by mistake. You could tell by the expression on his face afterward that he didn’t even realize he’d misspoken. Also, no person in their right mind would construct that phrase in seriousness. Please, Lew. Let’s make a list of the groups that could actually say they were offended by this:

1. Chickens.

That’s all we can think of. Let’s all have a little more humor about this. We should be thanking Ernie Anastos for bringing KFTC into our lives. We used the phrase at least six times yesterday — once even to a stranger!
