Danny Pang, the mysterious California financier whose crazy story captivated us when he was accused of running an $83 million Ponzi scheme this past spring, has died. According to reports, Pang, who had been on house arrest in his stucco Newport Beach mansion since April, died after being rushed to the hospital by paramedics over the weekend. The cause of his death is not yet known, but according to The Wall Street Journal, a neighbor said he “saw police remove four or five small bags of evidence from the Pang house,” and toxicology reports are under way.
