This weekend will no doubt bear forth a bounty of cringe-inducing video from today’s anti-big-government rally on Washington. (There are already reports of “pushing and shoving” and “signs in poor taste”!) What truly motivates these people to rise from the couch on a gloomy Saturday, hastily fashion a “What Would Hitler Do?” sign in the garage, and turn their cars in the direction of our capital for such a vague “cause,” we will probably never know. Though a few people have some pretty good theories! Anyway, this morning, after getting drowned out by the angry mob’s cries of “Tell the Truth!” CNN reporter Lisa Desjardins gave up on a traditional live report and attempted to address the crowd directly about their feelings on Joe Wilson. What followed will be irritatingly familiar to anyone who has ever seen a middle-school principal try to begin a school assembly.
