The Observer’s Irina Aleksander sat down at the Waldorf Astoria with Elizabeth Hurley, Evelyn Lauder, and eight co-chairs of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and found out that these ladies don’t just wear pearls, they distribute pearls. Of wisdom. Here is what she learned:
1. “Milking pregnant cows gives 11-year-old girls breast cancer.” (!)
2. Bergdorf Goodman has been empty, except for the shoe department, because, according to Lauder, “You can wear last year’s suit with this year’s shoes.”
3. “People with mastectomies can keep their own nipples now.” (Maybe?)
