A mugger whose trademark was a jaunty Red Sox cap was finally busted in North Carolina, months after he completed a crime spree in Manhattan that left behind fifteen victims. Rasheem Williams wielded a knife during his muggings and preyed on mostly young women in Upper Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. Williams, who had been listed on CrimeStoppers’ Top Most Wanted Fugitives, was randomly found in a town called Rocky Mount, North Carolina — alongside two other NYPD fugitives, Jamal Williams and Michael Lewis. Police don’t know how they were connected, but presumably it was Rasheem Williams that gave them away. If you think wearing a Red Sox cap in New York makes you stick out, try wearing one in the South.
