Harold Ford Jr. campaigned north of the city for the first time today, making a stop at a diner in Rockland County to schmooze with locals and meet with Democratic officials. While at the diner, Ford made the rounds to every table, introducing himself and talking about the need for job creation. Though Ford has yet to declare his candidacy, he slipped up at one point and told two diners that he was “running for Senate.” Of course, interrupting a stranger’s breakfast to share your thoughts on the economy is just kind of rude if you’re not running for something.
