Former Nets star Jayson Williams was rushed to the hospital early at 3:15 this morning after crashing his SUV into a tree off of FDR Drive. He suffered minor injuries, and though he was found alone in the passenger seat of his car by officers, witnesses say he was driving the car, and police suspect that he was drinking before the crash.
Williams, who was hospitalized back in April for acting “violent” and “suicidal,” is awaiting trial on a reckless-manslaughter charge from a 2002 shooting. Last month, his own lawyers in New Jersey removed themselves from his defense.
