More than 55,000 people voted before noon in today’s special Senate election in Massachusetts, a number that so far more than doubles the amount of people who turned out for the primary late last year. Voters supporting both Scott Brown and Martha Coakley have high incentives to show up — press reports have gone from dismissing Brown a month ago to all but preemptively crowning him victor this week.
