Sure, they may think they’re helping out by putting their normal lives on hold to wade into a humanitarian nightmare, but foreign doctors in Haiti are really just screwing things up. According to CNN, there are so many of them jockeying to save people that “patients can have their dressings opened three or four times in close succession as one and then another crew of doctors come to evaluate their wounds.” See, this is exactly why we need to move away from a fee-for-service system.
