Chuck Schumer, through his PAC, has given more money to the campaigns of Democratic Senate candidates in the past year than any other Democrat in the Senate. He’s not just giving it to candidates facing tough elections, but also to those who will coast to reelection, like Vermont’s Pat Leahy. What a sweetheart, that Schumer! Maybe someday soon there will be an opening for majority leader, and the Democratic caucus will remember that sweethearts famously make the best majority leaders. [Hill]
