The State Senate is expected to vote today on the fate of civil-rights icon Hiram Monserrate, though it’s unclear at this point whether he’ll be censured or expelled. In any case, the State Senate is calling in a greater police presence just in case things get crazy. Once all the drinking glasses are replaced with Dixie cups, that place will be a fortress. [NYDN]
