Right smack in the middle of morning rush hour, a single-engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing on the New Jersey Turnpike today. The plane, which was carrying two people, glided safely into the northbound lanes of the highway, just north of Cherry Hill and five miles east of Philadelphia. It’s been reported that the plane was scouting traffic for a Philly radio and TV station. Amazingly, no one was hurt, though the plane is still on the road, according to reports, and cars are having to crawl past it on the shoulder. Some people might call it a Miracle on the Jersey Turnpike … but probably not the people who picked the road because they were told by traffic reports that it was clear, only to be stuck in miles of backed up cars behind a traffic reporter.
