The new decade has not been kind to CNN. This past quarter was the worst ever for Larry King, whose audience dropped 43 percent over the past three months, and — in addition to regularly trailing Rachel Maddow and Sean Hannity — King is now being “threatened” in the ratings by Joy Behar. And CNN golden boy Anderson Cooper is also suffering, having lost 42 percent in viewers this quarter. As if this wasn’t hard enough for the network to take, this past quarter was the best ever for Fox News Channel. Though CNN has said they do not intend to make any changes to their prime-time programming right now, sending Cooper shark-diving as often as possible should probably be good for a percentage point or two.
