Bob Oliva, the basketball coach at Queens’s Christ the King Regional High School, was charged yesterday for raping a teenage boy 34 years ago. Oliva, who has led his teams to championships many times over the past decades, has coached NBA greats like Jayson Williams, Derrick Phelps, and Lamar Odom. Oliva had denied the allegations for years, but in 2009 he stepped down from his coaching position. [NYP]
