Romney Plays Nice, Praises Palin on King

Mitt Romney sat down with Larry King tonight to promote his new book and kvetch about the health-care reform bill, but more interesting was when he strained to praise potential 2012 opponent, Sarah Palin.

She’s energetic, a positive force in the Republican party, a leader in our party,” he said. “And having a positive impact on bringing out a lot of folks that were in the silent majority… are finding they’re not silent anymore. That’s a good thing.”

Ever the politician, he was similarly Panglossian when discussing the tea partiers: “I think it’s a good thing to see people becoming more involved in the political process.”
