We May Be a Little Bit Closer to Knowing the Secrets of the Universe

After two electrical failures, the Large Hadron Collider is finally working and doing its job of smashing up protons to re-create the same conditions from when the universe was less than a trillionth of a second old. Scientists are very excited. ““We’re looking at all kinds of exotic things,” one tells the Times, including signs of extra dimensions.” Eep! At the very least, we have not yet been sucked into a black hole. [NYT]
