Gwyneth Paltrow Not Off the Carbs Yet

Last night at the premiere of Blythe Danner’s new film Waiting for Forever, Daily Intel asked her if she was worried that her daughter Gwyneth Paltrow was on a downward spiral, that her new penchant for fried chicken, sundaes, and other calorie-laden foods was going to erode years of expensive personal training and near-starvation at the hands of macrobiotic and raw-foods diets, and ultimately leave Gwyneth looking less like a movie star than like a — gasp — normal human being. “Well, I think she’s just allowing that as her sort of thing you do every so often,” Blythe tittered nervously. But does Blythe know the whole story? An interview Gwyneth gave recently to Bazaar while “tucking heartily into a plate of risotto al Barolo topped with Castelmagno cheese” suggests not.

I was so bad with the food and alcohol in Nashville,” she says of the two-month shoot she just wrapped. “If you saw me naked compared to what I looked like when I did Iron Man 2, when I was exercising every day — I’ll get it back together, but I’ve never eaten so much fried food and white flour in my life, ever. Oh, God,” she groans as she wryly snaps a spindly breadstick in two.

Oh, Gwyneth. We’re sure you will. In the meantime, have another breadstick. Go ahead. One won’t kill you.
