Man on the Street: Tim Murphy Boards Le Jeanne d’Arc

The French naval ship Le Jeanne d’Arc was launched as a training ship in 1964 and at the moment is enjoying its final mission across the seas. It docked in New York on one of its last legs, and we sent our Man on the Street Tim Murphy to investigate what life is like onboard. As you might expect, the vessel is full of well-groomed, effete Gallic seamen. In well-fitting outfits. (There were also 2,000 French books in the hold that will go to New York City schools, courtesy of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.) You’ll just have to watch; we don’t want to spoil it. Prepare yourself: Tim speaks French.
