GOP Senator Indicates He May Vote to End Financial-Reform Filibuster

Though Senate Democrats were blocked for a second day in a row from beginning debate on the financial-reform bill (Democrat Ben Nelson broke ranks again), there is potentially some good news on the horizon for the Dems. Ohio Republican Senator George Voinovich may switch his vote to help Democrats move the Wall Street reform bill forward, he told CNN today.

The American people “want to see us get something done,” Voinovich said, adding he expects a “whole bunch” of other Republicans to eventually switch their votes as well.

Voinovich — who is not running for reelection — would not say when he’ll break, cryptically musing, “I have an idea of how much time it takes to cut a deal.”
