Trump Soho, the condo-hotel project vociferously opposed by activist group Soho Alliance and whose architectural chops have been seriously questioned, opens for business today. Hospitality-industry blog HotelChatter gives its interiors a thumbs up, and sources say the hotel’s nearly booked for the weekend. That’s a marked difference from sales of the condo-hotel’s units — the rooms are on the market, though owners can’t technically stay more than 120 days in one year — which press reports have characterized as sluggish, at best.
