blog-stained wretches

Washington Post Launches PostPolitics.com

We’ve been scratching our heads over the new online arm of the Washington Post, PostPolitics.com, which basically combines together a lot of the political coverage they already had (their “Fix” editor Chris Cillizza is running the thing). It’s obviously meant to take on Politico, as the Times points out, and it certainly looks like that site at first glance. But with the exception of some blogger hires, the bulk of the coverage will come from the Post’s previously existing (though recently beefed-up) staff. Is it a test to see whether people can enjoy a Politico-style news-delivery system without everything being so, well, Politico? [Official site]
