Changes on the Media Beat at the Times

According to internal memos sent out today, there are some changes at the media desk over at the Times: Albany beat reporter Jeremy Peters, who contributed to the Eliot Spitzer package that won the paper a Pulitzer in 2007, will replace Richard Pérez-Peña on the newspaper beat. (That means, in part, having to cover the Times itself: always a position we’ve found simultaneously fascinating and horrifying.) Pérez-Peña has moved to the metro desk, where he’ll be covering New Jersey. Meanwhile, Rick Lyman, who edited the Hollywood and publishing stories at the media desk, is returning to the national desk. According to the memos, sent by media editor Bruce Headlam, the Times is looking to fill the positions that both Lyman and Peters are exiting, so if you know anyone
