Something Finally Works in BP’s Cleanup Effort

BP had some rare good news today in its oil spill cleanup effort, as it was successful in connecting a mile-long funnel that will collect leaking crude oil and transport it to a ship at the surface. The progress was described as an “important step,” though the Obama administration emphasized it isn’t a solution (in fact, the funnel only captures “part” of the spillage), and is continuing to put pressure on the company to work harder, especially in light of news that the leaking oil may have already entered a major current moving toward the Florida Keys.
