Ethics investigators in the House have notified Bronx Democrat Joe Crowley that they are reviewing his fund-raising history, as part of an unexplained but wide-ranging probe that also includes several lobbyists and other members of the House Financial Services and Ways and Means Committees. (Crowley serves on the latter, and upstate Republican Christopher Lee, who is also being investigated, sits on the former.) So far the New York representatives are cooperating and maintain they’ve done nothing wrong. It’s not publicly known what kicked off the probe, but the Post says sources indicate it’s related to the financial-reform legislation working its way through the legislature. [NYP]
