Failed Times Square car-bomber Faisal Shahzad was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury today on ten counts, including conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting an act of terrorism, transportation of an explosive, and more. As for connections to terrorist organizations, prosecutors allege that Shahzad was trained in Pakistan by “trainers affiliated with Tehrik-i-Taliban, an extremist group that is the umbrella organization for the Pakistani Taliban,” and that he received money from a Pakistani who worked for Tehrik-i-Taliban.
