The Clinton Library dumped 46,000 pages of documents related to Elena Kagan’s time as an associate White House counsel and domestic-policy adviser onto the Internet today for Republicans, the media, and anyone else who is interested to rummage through. Since Kagan has no history as a judge, her e-mails and memos from her time in the White House will likely become an important part of confirmation hearings. So far, the Associated Press finds a “pragmatic streak” in dealing with Big Tobacco and CNN sees a “sensible approach” to late-term abortions. There’s a lot of data to sift, and an additional 114,000 or so more pages yet to be released, so hopefully some more-interesting insights into Kagan’s beliefs will be discovered in time.
