According to a London Telegraph report, Rahm Emanuel will quit his post as White House chief of staff in the next six to eight months. The story, which cites intel from “Washington insiders,” claims that Emanuel is tired of fighting with fellow politicians and will likely “go after the midterms” (in a quote attributed to a “leading Democratic” source). Emanuel has said previously that becoming the mayor of Chicago is “something he’ll do” and has also spoken out before about the difficulties of his current job. Maybe today’s lovely tweet from Sarah Palin — which described him “as shallow/narrowminded/political/irresponsible as they come” — is what put him over the edge.
