U.S. Government Delivers $69 Million Bill to BP

On the same day Obama made his furiousness about the oil spill known, his administration sent BP a bill for $69 million for the government’s efforts in dealing with the disaster. This amount accounts for 75 percent of the money BP owes the government, and the company has until July 1 to pony it up, a White House official said. The Obama administration will be billing BP regularly for costs related to the spill, according to the task force managing the spill response; the way things have been going, BP may as well just set up monthly automatic payments.
