There Are Bedbugs Between Hachette Book Group’s Covers

Drinking the pure blood of wealthy Upper East Siders, suburban teens, and advertising executives has not quenched the thirst of New York’s bedbugs, who have now launched an attack on the already-beleaguered publishing industry. Reports the Journal:

Hachette Book Group’s three floors of offices at 237 Park Ave. have been undergoing treatment for bedbugs this week, said a company spokeswoman. “Although we discovered a limited incidence of bedbugs, we are proceeding with great caution and an aggressive course of action. We have been treating our three floors after hours all week, and will be closing on Thursday afternoon and all day Friday to complete the final treatment—which is more potent, and involves chemicals. We’ll reopen on Monday,” the spokeswoman said.

We’d be concerned about them coming after magazines next, except we’re pretty sure that the amount of alcohol in our bodies would kill them dead at first bite.
