Last night, Jay Leno asked Joe Biden why the U.S. only got four of our spies back from Russian custody, when we were giving the Russians back ten of their spies, including Anna Chapman, at yesterday’s spy swap. It seems like a raw deal, Leno noted, unless we got some sort of super-spies back by returning ten that even the Russians would admit were pretty mediocre at spying. That’s exactly what happened, Biden confirmed: “We got back four really good ones. And the ten, they’ve been here a long time, but they hadn’t done much.” Still, they are hot nonetheless, Leno said, displaying a sultry photo of Anna Chapman as evidence. Biden joked, “Let me be clear. It was not my idea to send her back.” He added: “I thought they’d take Rush Limbaugh.” Classic, Joe. [AP]
