Oil-Spill Cleanup Commences Again

Since Tropical Storm Bonnie has already weakened, vessels and workers have begun returning to the BP oil-spill site, evacuated yesterday owing to the storm, to continue the “static kill” operation, a plan to plug the oil spill permanently with mud. Coast Guard Thad Allen fears more storms could continue to halt the cleanup efforts, though: “We’re going to be playing a cat-and-mouse game for the remainder of the hurricane season,” he said.
