It wouldn’t be fair to call progressive GOP pundit Meghan McCain “the Snooki of American Politics,” but still, there was something sort of fitting about her sitting down to interview the pluckiest Jersey Shore star. Snooki, after all, famously exchanged tweets with Meghan’s father, John McCain, over their shared hatred of Obama’s tanning-bed tax. And, it turns out, Snooki has been a McCain supporter from the beginning. Though she registered as an Independent because she didn’t “want to pick any side” and also doesn’t “really know a lot about politics,” in the end she voted for Meghan’s dad:
Snooki: So when I saw it was Obama and McCain, to be honest with you, the only reason why I voted for your father was because he was really cute and I liked when he did his speeches.
Meghan: Well, thank you. [Laughing] I appreciate that, though it’s a little weird
