Nicole John, 17, fell from the 22nd floor of a Herald Square luxury apartment building early this morning and died instantly, according to police. The young woman is the daughter of the United States ambassador to Thailand, Eric John. The Post reported that she had been attending a party on the building’s 25th floor after a night out clubbing in the meatpacking district. A witness said she’d been standing on a ledge when she fell (her body was later found on a third-floor ledge). Adding an element of mystery to this otherwise straightforwardly awful tale: An unnamed 25-year-old male has been charged in conjunction with the incident with endangering the welfare of a child.
