Fox News Gets Front-Row Real Estate in White House Briefing Room

After a hotly contested race for Helen Thomas’s vacated seat between Fox News, Bloomberg, and (recent entrant) NPR, Fox News has come out victorious. The White House Correspondents’ Association announced that Fox News will join the likes of CNN and the broadcast networks in the front row. The WHCA said the decision was “very difficult,” and explained their choice was made due to “Fox’s length of service and commitment to the White House television pool.” Thomas’s actual center seat will be filled by the AP, with Fox News taking the AP’s old spot in the front. Not all was lost for NPR, though: They’ll be moving up from the third row to the second.
