Google Knows Which E-mails You Really Want to Read

Last night, Google launched a new Gmail feature that tasks its tiny robot army with figuring out how to organize your e-mail. Priority Inbox, still in beta, sorts your e-mails by importance based on whether you’ve previously read e-mails from its sender, whether you’ve e-mailed that person before, and a dash of algorithmic je ne sais quois. This means Google would know not only who you e-mail, but also who you prefer to communicate with and whose content you actually value. But we doubt they’d want to do anything with that info.
