Among the many bills that Governor Paterson vetoed today was one that would have required sippy cups to carry a label that warns of the “risk of early childhood tooth decay” from “prolonged use.” According to Paterson’s veto statement, “Brief warning labels are simply not the best vehicle to convey detailed information about general parental practice and proper use of a product that is not inherently dangerous.” Not inherently dangerous?
