More details have emerged about Levi Johnston’s proposed reality show and, we’ll say this, the guy makes it extremely hard to ignore him. Bristol’s ex will run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska (which is, of course, Sarah Palin’s hometown), in the new reality project, titled Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office. Apparently Levi wasn’t totally sold on the idea of actually running for political office at first, but, unsurprisingly considering other things he’s been convinced to do, it didn’t take much to get him onboard.
“… the more I think about it and look into it, I think there’s a possibility we can make it happen,” Johnston said of his political prospects. “It’s something that I want to do.”
His right-hand man Tank Jones will serve as his campaign manager in the race for the chair, which isn’t actually up for election until 2012 (in the meantime, Johnston may run for city council). Variety notes that Johnston’s candidacy “isn’t as far-fetched as it sounds,” as the current mayor (lawyer Verne E. Rupright) gained the seat in 2008 with 466 votes. Hey, a few shirtless campaign appearances, maybe Kathy Griffin as a running mate or something … and clearing 500 should be a piece of cake.
