Her father may be a former prosecutor and mayor known for being tough on crime, but that didn’t stop Caroline Giuliani (Caroline Hanover? Caroline Rose?) from allegedly pilfering some makeup from a Sephora on East 86th Street earlier this afternoon. Though she was arrested, the Obama-supporting Giuliani who attends Harvard, currently lives nearby with her mother, Donna Hanover, and is not, we suspect, poor wasn’t exactly treated like just any old shoplifter.
Store managers insisted on pressing charges, and when officials discovered who the suspect was, several high-ranking officers were dispatched to the store, an unusual measure for a shoplifting charge.
What did they think the low-ranking officers were going to do, beat the crap out of her?
