Two Guyanese Men Found Guilty in JFK Bomb Plot

Two men were convicted Monday for plotting to use explosives to bomb John F. Kennedy International airport in 2007. Former cargo handler Russell Defreitas, 66, and former Guyana parliament member Abdul Kadir, 58 - both arrested when an informant infiltrated the plot - were convicted of multiple conspiracy charges by a Brooklyn federal court. The defense, oddly, didn’t have any luck with the ole’ Bruce Willis excuse: “It’s pretty clear that these guys have seen too many Bruce Willis movies and don’t have enough to fill up their time,” Defreitas’ attorney had told jurors.
