WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange Will Work for Tips

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is joining forces with Flattr, a Swedish micropayments services that lets users give tips for content they like. At the end of the month, a user’s monthly fee — starting at 2 euros — is divvied up among all the content they “flattred.” WikiLeaks has pulled in tips from 563 anonymous patrons, so the proceeds could literally be pennies so far. Flattr has close ties to infamous BitTorrent hub the Pirate Bay, one of Hollywood’s favorite targets for copyright-infringement lawsuits.
