Chelsea Clinton’s Wedding Did Not, As It Turns Out, Have Fairy-Tale Powers

It was a lovely ceremony, according to the guests, that was intimate and exciting and tastefully done. In fact, Chelsea Clinton’s nuptials may have been the wedding of 2010. She looked like a princess in her Vera Wang gown, with the luxe platinum beading around the waist. But even a fairy-tale wedding can’t perform magic tricks: After the ceremony, the owners of the historic (and already for-sale) Astor estate where the wedding took place upped the asking price from $12 million to $13 million. After all, American royalty had danced and dined there! But according to the Post today, the allure of Chelsea’s enigmatic wedding left the estate with her. Brokers have now chopped the minimum asking bid down to $7.5 million. $7.5 million for a 50-acre estate in Rhinebeck with a mansion designed by Stanford White himself and indoor sporting facilities? You can’t even buy a townhouse in the Village that’s attached to the building next to it for $7.5 million! This isn’t a fairy tale; it’s a ghost story.
