When we ran into author Jonathan Ames at the Stone premiere at MoMA last night, we asked him about fellow famous Brooklyn scribe Jonathan Lethem and Lethem’s departure from the borough. “We’ve got at least five more years,” Ames said. “That’s just my guess at the moment. Because there are parts that still haven’t been gentrified. You know, like Ditmas Park has not been exploited like an oil field quite yet.” If Ditmas Park, where Victorians go for $2 million, is Brooklyn’s last un-gentrified hope, it may be time to write it off.
