Richard Johnson’s Reign At Page Six Comes To An End

After serving as the editor of Page Six for close to 25 years, Richard Johnson is departing the New York Post. He’ll be heading to Hollywood, though not to the Hollywood Reporter as had been rumored, but instead to work on “new digital ventures” for Post parent company News Corp. Emily Smith, who joined Page Six last year, will be taking Johnson’s place as the new editor. Post editor-in-chief Col Allan called Johnson’s departure “bittersweet,” adding, “Richard is a great friend and we will miss him, but we’re excited for him, too.” [NYP]
