Condo Board Spends $100,000 to Evict Four-Pound Yorkie

Charlie the Yorkshire terrier is apparently quite the controversial canine. Even though the condo board in his Queens apartment building had voted to ban pets, his lonely owner, Donata Forman, 52, decided to try to keep the four-pound pooch because he is “a part of the family.” So the condo board took Charlie to court, through the state Supreme Court and an appeals panel — where they lost after having spent a total of $100,000 on the case. They could have easily kicked Charlie out if he had violated the condo’s “no-nuisance” rule for barking — but not a single neighbor ever complained.
